Enrolments
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is recognised as an international leader in the education of teenaged girls, providing individual opportunities for every girl to reach her potential. We believe that understanding teenaged girls and caring for them as individuals is central to achieving the best academic and educational outcomes. Girls need to feel secure in their environment, they need to be encouraged to feel confident about taking risks with their learning and they need to be motivated in constructive ways both inside and outside the classroom.
Entry into Year 8 (2009-2015)
Currently Year 8 is the only major intake year for the School. Girls usually enter Year 8 in the year that they turn thirteen years old, or after completing Year 7 in Queensland or the equivalent Year level at an interstate or overseas school. Entry into Year 8 is academically non-selective. Girls are placed on our enrolment lists according to the date on which we receive your application. As positions are taken up quickly it is advisable to return your application form as soon as possible to secure a place.
It is recommended that applications for entry next year be discussed with the Enrolments Registrar.
Once an application has been accepted it is important that you advise the School of any changes to your contact details. If the School is unable to contact you your daughter’s enrolment application may be forfeited.
Approximately three years prior to the nominated year of entry the School will commence the enrolment process for your daughter. This will involve entering into an Enrolment Agreement with the School and paying the Confirmation Fee current at the time.
Entry into Year 7 (2015 onwards)
Enrolment applications for Year 7 will be accepted for 2015 onwards.
Plans to introduce Year 7 have been precipitated by the Queensland Government’s initiative to introduce a preparatory year and increase the age of students entering Year 1. Girls Grammar will have the exciting opportunity to extend its specialist expertise with educating teenaged girls to Year 7 in 2015. Entry into Year 7 will follow the same procedure as currently in place for Year 8.
