Parent Groups

Parents & Friends Association

The P&F Association performs a number of functions supporting both students and the School. The functions include providing feedback to the Principal and Staff, supporting the School directly or indirectly through sub-groups, and as the major fund-raiser for the School.

Mothers Group

The mothers of girls at BGGS have always been an integral part of the school community. As a sub-committee of the Parents and Friends Association, the Mothers Group and their events act as a place where mothers meet and socialise outside of the shops, sports clubs and music activities. It also acts as a forum where ideas and activities can be initiated.

Fathers Group

The group provides a social opportunity for the involvement by fathers in their daughters' education in a very positive way. Regular monthly members' meetings are held at the School in an informal atmosphere where the Principal and many staff present and discuss the new educational programs being implemented. These meetings also act as a valuable forum for fathers to directly raise and discuss issues with the Principal.

Music Support Group

Parents of music students offer support to the program by assisting with the planning of activities and fundraising. Monthly meetings provide the opportunity for parents and staff to work together in a variety of ways.

This group has a threefold aim:

• To support the music staff and the students in their performance;
• To provide a friendly and "up-front" face to audiences at school musical presentations; and
• To raise money for the purchase of equipment not covered by the School's very generous grants to the music department.
