Capital Appeal

Desiderata

Brisbane Girls Grammar School stands today as the vital and living realisation of the progressive vision for educating young women conceived by its founders more than 130 years ago. Over time, this great School has successfully responded to the challenge of fulfilling the academic and personal aspirations of so many of its parents, students, staff and friends.

In acknowledging the expressed desires of our community today, the School has embarked upon an ambitious Masterplan - a plan which will see the campus landscape transformed, its available learning spaces increased by almost half and its facilities enhanced to maximise the School's capacity to provide the highest standard of learning environments for its students.

The flagship of our Masterplan is The Cherrell Hirst Creative Learning Centre - a facility that has not only made a dynamic impact upon the Brisbane city skyline but is the structural catalyst for re-defining the nature of learning, both formal and informal, for successive generations of Grammar girls. Its extensive music, art and drama facilities complement the numerous spaces within the 6 storey building which are devoted to social engagement and interaction, so important to the development of young women.

The next significant component of the Masterplan is the creation of a curriculum swimming pool. Plans are well underway to design a pool which will not only meet but exceed the facility offered by the earlier 1960s pool which was removed to make way for the Creative Learning Centre.

Contributions from members of the Girls Grammar community to the advancement of the educational and community priorities we all share are crucial to the future well-being and strength of Brisbane Girls Grammar School and your financial commitment to the speedy implementation of the Masterplan is earnestly sought.
