We invite applications for an exceptional Technologies specialist with the capacity to teach both Technologies core and elective Multimedia and Interactive Technology. This is a fixed-term position to the end of Term IV 2016.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Technologies national curriculum with expertise in Design Technology, Robotics, Graphic Design, HTML, CSS  and JavaScript web programming
  • Expertise in a broad range of software applications with expertise in Scratch Games Development, Mindstorms, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications

Risk and Compliance Officer

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the School’s risk and compliance framework and mechanisms comply with current legal and regulatory obligations. Broadly, this specialist role involves administration, risk and compliance documentation and reporting across a range of key business areas including insurance, business continuity planning, policy compliance and risk.

Outdoor Education Teacher

Brisbane Girls Grammar School invites applications for a passionate and experienced Outdoor Education Teacher. This is a full-time and ongoing position based at our Marrapatta Memorial Outdoor Education Centre located approximately two hours north of Brisbane in the Mary Valley.

The Role

In addition to effectively delivering our exceptional outdoor education programme, you will be required to support academic programmes, parent working bees, community user groups and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme.  Occasional weekend work and during term breaks is required.

The successful applicant will demonstrate extensive knowledge of teaching strategies to achieve effective learning outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications with specialisation in Outdoor Education or qualifications in a range of outdoor pursuits
  • Expertise in teaching Outdoor Education across Years 7-12
  • Ability to engage students in an innovative and creative Outdoor Education programme
  • Contribute to the administration and logistical planning of programmes
  • Ability to follow procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of students including the promotion of positive relationships, medication and allergy management, dietary requirements and first aid
  • Ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a high performing School culture
  • Queensland College of Teachers registration

Laboratory Technician – Chemistry

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Science, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing technical support to teaching staff in the Science Faculty.

Key Accountabilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to teachers within the Science Faculty, particularly Chemistry
  • Laboratory management including stock control, equipment maintenance and coordination of resources
  • Preparation of experiments for use by students
  • General assistance with the preparation of teaching material for science classes, and assistance with administrative processes
