Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking an experienced and personable Project Manager to join the Information Technology (IT) team in this newly created position. The ideal candidate will bring a depth of experience in project management across varied business environments, along with strong relationship building skills and exceptional technical expertise.

The position

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the School’s IT projects are: completed on time, under budget, and within scope; and meet expected business requirements and standards. The Project Manager will ensure the success of each project by applying best practice project management in a complex environment.

Key accountabilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • leading and managing information technology projects to ensure completion within defined schedules and budgets, in accordance with business requirements, and to expected quality standards
  • preparing project specifications and initiation documents, tender documents and evaluation reports for the procurement of IT software and hardware
  • undertaking end-to-end project management including resourcing and allocation of project responsibilities and tasks
  • managing external vendors, suppliers and service partners to ensure successful project outcomes
  • preparing project documentation—including status reports, presentations and management plans—for the design, development, implementation, and reporting of relevant projects
  • negotiating with, and providing expert advice to, senior management, external partners, and other stakeholders on matters related to the successful delivery of IT projects.
