The Building

Constructed over seven levels, the Science Learning Centre will significantly increase the number of laboratories and general learning areas available at Girls Grammar.

Flexible spaces will support diverse experiences and be adaptable to accommodate pedagogical, curricular and technological changes.

Where Form Meets Function

Features of the new building include:

  • multi-functional space for up to 250 people (seated) or 600 (standing)
  • four Junior Science laboratories
  • four Chemistry teaching laboratories
  • five general learning classrooms
  • three science preparation labs
  • three meeting rooms
  • a science staffroom
  • outdoor breakout zones for students on two levels
  • a central void, allowing for cross-ventilation and natural light
  • outdoor plaza and covered recreation area for Health and Physical Education.

The Science Learning Centre is the School’s most substantial building project to date. Generations of students will benefit in the decades to come.
