Fathering an Adolescent Girl: The What and How

The second session in the Fathering an Adolescent Girl: The What and How series will be held on Tuesday 10 September for fathers who attended the first session on Tuesday 27 August. This seminar will equip fathers with information and strategies to help them understand, relate to and communicate with their daughters.

The two-part series will feature presentations and discussions in a relaxed, engaging and fun environment. Refreshments will be provided, and each participant will receive a booklet containing key information discussed during the seminars.

Second session

6.30 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday 10 September—The How

  • How to manage your daughter’s emotions
  • How to communicate effectively
  • How to stay connected
  • How to prepare your daughter for life beyond school
  • How to encourage positive emotions
  • How to father effectively

Ms Jody Forbes, Director of Student Counselling, will deliver the seminar. Mrs Jody Forbes has worked at Girls Grammar for 15 years and has worked closely with fathers in supporting their daughters.
