From the Principal (Acting)
This term has offered many reminders of what makes Brisbane Girls Grammar School such a vibrant and connected community: purposeful learning, spirited celebration and the everyday commitment of students, staff and families. As we pause for the holidays, I am grateful for all that we have shared.
Across our three campuses, students have continued to grow in confidence, curiosity and independence. Their progress has been evident not only in major milestones, but also in the quiet achievements that unfold each day—in classrooms, studios, laboratories, rehearsal rooms and playgrounds. In each setting, our girls have shown pride in their School and a willingness to give their best.
The final week brought the School together in memorable ways. On Monday evening, 950 Grammar girls and their mothers gathered for the annual Mother Daughter Dinner. It was a delight to welcome our new Year 5 and 6 families and to celebrate the distinctive bond between mothers and daughters. The evening was made even more lively by a competitive and spirited trivia competition, led with great energy by our fearless Quiz Master, Head of English Years 9 and 10, Ms Kat Talbot.
On Tuesday, the weather was on our side for the Years 7 to 12 Interhouse Athletics Carnival. The stands were a riot of House colour, the competition was fierce and the cheers carried across the grounds. Congratulations to Lilley House on a convincing win and a clean sweep of all Interhouse events throughout 2026—an impressive achievement.
The Junior School also opened its doors to families for the Years 5 and 6 End of Unit Showcases. These events gave parents the opportunity to see students’ learning in action and to appreciate the creativity, effort and growth developed throughout the term.
As we break for the holidays, I sincerely thank our staff for the care, expertise and professionalism they bring to their work each day. I am also grateful to our families for their continued support, encouragement and participation. Together, we nurture a community in which our students can flourish.
To all of our families, I wish you a safe, happy and restorative holiday, however you choose to spend it—slowing down, reconnecting, playing, travelling or curling up on the couch with a good book, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 3 with fresh energy and new goals. We are also especially looking forward to Ms Euler’s return following her long service leave. It will be wonderful to have her back.
Happy holidays.
Mrs Anne Ingram,
Principal (Acting)
