Junior School Official Opening
Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland and Official Visitor to the School, formally opened the Junior School last week, joining special guests and BGGS Head Girls and Junior School Captains.
The opening of the Junior School marks a historic milestone for girls' education in Queensland. Over the past 150 years, more than 23 000 girls have walked through the Brisbane Girls Grammar School gates, and we are now proud to welcome Years 5 and 6 students into our Girls Grammar community.
This is more than a new building; it is a long-term investment in the high-quality education of girls.
This modern facility offers inspiring teaching and learning spaces, essential to helping students achieve their full potential. Purpose-designed for primary students, it is tailored to the specific needs of these younger learners, while offering the benefits of the extensive expertise and facilities of the whole School. This Junior School nurtures inquisitive minds, encourages the sharing of knowledge and development of ideas, while preserving the importance of play and the joy of learning.
