Parent Volunteer Blue Card Information

The School is grateful for the time, energy and care that many of our parents contribute as volunteers. Parent volunteers strengthen our community and enrich the experiences of our students, your daughters.

We want to advise the School community of the recent changes introduced by Blue Card Services, in line with Queensland Government legislation, and the impact this will have on our parent volunteer community. Many of the activities our parents volunteer for at Girls Grammar now require that parents hold a current Blue Card.

As you would understand, the administration of this is extensive, and therefore we would ask that all parents who wish to volunteer in 2026 seek to obtain a volunteer Blue Card.

To make this as simple as possible for you, please follow the steps below or the guide on Minerva. As processing times can vary, we encourage parents to begin the application as soon as possible, particularly if you are considering volunteering in Term 1.

Please also note, a volunteer Blue Card is valid for three years and is free.

• If you already hold a current Blue Card, would you please email hr@bggs.qld.edu.au with your Blue Card number, full name, date of birth, and your daughter’s name and year level.

• If you do not hold a Blue Card, would you please apply for one before volunteering. Applications can be submitted online via Blue Card Services.

Please note, you must email your Reference Number with your full name, date of birth and daughter's name and year to hr@bggs.qld.edu.au, who will then link the application process to BGGS.
