BGGS support for the people of Ukraine

On Thursday 24 February 2022, Russia began bombing major Ukrainian cities. Since then, they have continued to bomb civilian homes and areas, as well as hospitals. In just over three weeks, more than 2.8 million refugees have fled Ukraine, waiting in hour-long lines to reach the safety of neighbouring countries such as Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova.

Several not-for-profit organisations have stepped up to help refugees fleeing Ukraine. One organisation, World Vision, is using donations to buy hygiene kits, and providing psychological support and a safe place for women and children. As part of our efforts to assist those affected, BGGS has a World Vision donation page.

All money raised will go directly to World Vision for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Additionally, several students in Year 10 have taken the opportunity to help raise funds through a bake stall that will be held on the last day of term, Friday 1 April.

Donations, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
