Extended Support

Extended Support

Growing in learning and life requires courage and the ability to take risks. Grammar girls are encouraged to set themselves high standards and to be strong and resilient in their endeavour to realise their potential. Staff work together to carefully monitor every girl’s progress in learning and emotional needs, and decisions regarding how best to facilitate each girl’s development are made as a team. This careful, professional and individualised approach is rewarded by the growth of confidence and self-belief developed in our young women.

Heads of House works closely with House and classroom teachers as well as other professional staff including the School Psychologists, Student Counselling Coordinator, Health Care Co-ordinator, Dean of Curriculum and Director of Post Secondary Planning to provide a comprehensive and extended support network for each girl. These professional staff are also involved in organising a programme of informative events for the Girls Grammar community such as parent information evenings, BGGS News articles, guest speaker forums, career breakfasts and workshops where parents, staff and students can access the latest information and advice on a wide range of topics related to teenaged girls and their development.
