Brisbane Girls Grammar School’s Annual Giving appeal provides all members of the School community with the opportunity to contribute to excellence in girls’ education.
Every gift of every size will benefit the young women we educate today and in the future.
‘At Girls Grammar, I was part of a vibrant community with diverse interests. The School fosters a well-rounded, civically-conscious idea of excellence and I was fortunate to have many teachers who were invested in my learning. It is thanks to the generosity of others that I am a Grammar girl.’—Shiye Su (2015)
The Bursary that Shiye Su received in 2011 enabled her to complete her secondary schooling at Girls Grammar, receiving the Lady Lilley Silver Medal for Proxime Accessit to the Dux of the School. Shiye is now finishing a Physics degree at Princeton University in the United States.
A gift to the Bursary Fund will create opportunities for talented girls from a wide range of backgrounds to experience a life changing education.
Girls Grammar prides itself on a strong tradition of participation in Sport, encouraging girls to train to achieve their personal best. With over 20 sports available, it is not surprising that more than 1000 Grammar girls participate in sport each year. Our experienced teachers in Sport connect students to advanced training methods, based on leading research in exercise science, health and nutrition, to support our girls’ physical, mental and social wellbeing.
A gift via the Australian Sports Foundation will assist the continued development of sporting facilities, equipment and programs at Girls Grammar.
‘The archives are like a tapestry; each item is a little thread of history that you draw together to create a picture that shows what the School was like. It gives current students and future students a feeling of connectedness, perspective and continuity—a lot has changed, but much remains the same as well.’ —Jenny Davis, Librarian (Special Collections)
The Elizabeth Jameson Research Learning Centre houses a vast array of specialist resources to spark curiosity and deepen knowledge, as well as the School’s archives—a unique insight into the School through the ages, as well as society’s changing attitudes toward the value of girls’ education.
A gift to the Library Fund will support the School to purchase new educational resources and maintain historical archives.
Providing exceptional teaching and learning spaces in all curriculum areas can support students to achieve their full potential. The Dorothy Hill Observatory is just one example of recently developed facilities now enjoyed by our girls—and brought to life through giving. Girls Grammar will continue to invest in new infrastructure projects to engage and challenge girls in interesting ways.
A gift to the Building Fund will help to provide inspirational facilities to meet the needs of students in the 21st century.
