From the Alumnae Relations Manager

For most people, this is the traditional season for reflecting on the past year and making plans for the future, no matter how big or small. Others, perhaps, hope 2022 will be a return to normalcy and an opportunity to optimistically wish for an end to disruptions. The ability to be together again, the freedom to travel, and the confidence to plan important milestone gatherings, celebrations, or just dinner with friends, are often the small things that help structure our lives and make us all feel part of a community.

In this edition of Bishbar Blue, we celebrate the Arts—a sector that has faced two years of continuous disruption due to COVID-19.

There have been many studies on the measurable impact the Arts has on a country’s economy, health and wellbeing, society, and education through enriching others by offering intellectual and emotional experiences, promoting both contemplation and celebration. Both culture and art are two wonderful ways of preserving or strengthening a strong community’s sense of place, forging a personal identity, and showcasing creativity.

As the Arts industry stares down the end of a second year devastatingly impacted by the pandemic, we are proud to showcase a small selection of Grammar Women working in this industry, and the wonder, delight, and wisdom they share through their art.

As Girls Grammar’s largest group of stakeholders, I thank you for your continued engagement in 2021 and we are proud to have featured the stories of so many of our diverse alumnae. We are committed to providing the most relevant topics and Grammar Women stories in 2022 and would appreciate the opportunity to gather some insight from you.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey so we can incorporate your feedback into our planning for future issues.

I hope you enjoy the last edition of Bishbar Blue for 2021 and I look forward to seeing many more of you at one of our Grammar Women events in 2022, but in the meantime, I wish you and your family a wonderful festive season and a very happy New Year.
