BGGS Cricket 2022 Update

We welcome our Girls Grammar cricket players, parents, and coaches to the 2022 season of QG Cricket! This year, the cricket squad is fielding an Opens team coached by Mr Christian Moffat, two Division 1 teams (1A coached by Mr Daniel Larkin and 1B coached by Mr Jack O’Brien), and a Division 2 team coached by Mr Aaron Bowden.

The 2022 season will be led by Charlotte Banney (12L) and Alice Barker (12G), members of our Open team. I have no doubt our Captains will lead all teams to success throughout the competition.

Due to the delayed start of term, Round 1 of matches was abandoned. Training and games will begin upon return to campus on Monday 7 February. During Weeks 3 and 4, all teams will train on Monday afternoon at the National Cricket Centre. From Week 5 onwards, all training sessions will be held at Rangakarra, unless otherwise notified. Please see the Minerva Cricket page for further information regarding training. The schedule of games will also be uploaded to Minerva and the School App prior to Rounds beginning.

An important date for all diaries—the Pink Stumps Round has been scheduled for the final round of games on the morning of Saturday 26 March. The Captains will share more information with the Girls Grammar community as the date draws closer.

A message from the 2022 Cricket Captains, Charlotte and Alice:

As the 2022 cricket season begins with the first training as a squad on Monday, we are eager to see what this season has in store for us. From meeting new players to preparing for our first game, we are beyond excited to get back into the swing of things. We hope everyone has had a great first week and is just as pumped as we are for the year ahead.
