Rhythmic gymnastics 2022

After more than three months of early morning training sessions, holiday training, and a practice competition, the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics season has come to an end. On Friday 5 August, our BGGS team, consisting of 70 gymnasts, performed exceptionally well at the QGSSSA competition.

The results from the day were as follows:

Year 7 (i)—Team 1 (2nd)

Year 7 (ii)—Team 2 (2nd), Team 3 (6th), and Team 4 (9th)

Year 8 (i)—Team 1 (3rd)

Year 8 (ii)—Team 2 (1st)

B Grade—1st

A Grade—2nd

Open Pairs—4th

Open Group—2nd

These outstanding results are testament to the commitment and diligence of each and every gymnast this season, and I would like to thank them for their efforts. In particular, I would like to thank the 2022 Captains, Katherine Chuang (12R) and Milly Maruoka (12R). Their enthusiasm and passion for Rhythmic Gymnastics was so evident and it was a privilege to watch their leadership skills develop over the season. Our coaches this season must also be acknowledged—these results would not have been possible without their expert knowledge and support of our girls.

I hope that this season our gymnasts challenged themselves, grasped opportunities, learned a variety of lessons, celebrated with friends, and created memories that will last a lifetime. It was an absolute pleasure coordinating Rhythmic Gymnastics this season and I look forward to seeing our gymnasts return for the 2023 season.
