On Tuesday 5 September, Jolina Chen (9R), Chloe Lin (9H), Isa Wang (9L), Julia Wang (9W), Tiffany Yuen (9R), and Cindy Zhang (9L) attended Rockwell Automation’s 2023 ROKLive manufacturing technology event held on the Gold Coast.
The girls competed in six friendly FIRST Tech Challenge matches, and were pitted against seven of our strongest regional competitors, including Brisbane Grammar School. This was the last competition of the 2022/2023 season, with the new season opening next week on 10 September. We were also provided with a guided tour of the latest cutting-edge automation systems from Rockwell Automation and its affiliate partners.
Additionally, on Wednesday afternoon, Hatch hosted an ‘Ask an Engineer’ Q&A panel for our students. The ‘Ask an Engineer’ panel provided valuable insight into undergraduate mechatronics, electrical, chemical process, and mechanical engineering pathways. Hatch has been an invaluable networking partner in assisting students to develop skills, share industry experience, and inspire our young robotics engineers.
