Last Thursday, the Girls Grammar Second Chance committee presented Chair of the Second Chance Programme Fundraising Group, Ms Kathleen Noonan, and Treasurer, Ms Marjorie Morton, with a cheque for $3000.
This money was raised at various fundraising events throughout the year, the most notable being the Valentine’s Day bake stall. Second Chance will use these funds to assist women experiencing homelessness through support programs that focus on providing care for young mothers transitioning from foster care to independent living.
Ms Noonan and Ms Morton then spoke to girls about their experience working with Second Chance. Their advice to listeners was to remember the smallest amount of help can be life-changing for women experiencing hardships. We thank our coordinator, Science Teacher, Mrs Morgan, for organising this incredible presentation.
