Student Entrepreneur Program

The Brisbane Girls Grammar School and Brisbane Grammar School Student Entrepreneur Program commenced on Thursday 14 February 2019 with unprecedented levels of participation. Forty-two Grammar girls and 19 students from Brisbane Grammar School attended the first session.

Under the guidance of River City Labs mentor, Mr Aaron Birkby, students discussed what entrepreneurship is about, what a start-up is, why many fail and the future of the labour market. Students then brainstormed problems they wish to solve, including the aged care crisis, climate change, transportation safety and communication.

In coming weeks, student entrepreneurs will undertake competition analysis, identify target market, design minimal viable products (MVPs), formulate pricing and market strategies, and pitch to a panel of judges and potential investors. The ‘Demo Day’ pitch competition will be held in May 2019.
