Study Buddies

Starting secondary can be difficult at the best of times let alone during a global pandemic. While remote learning is new for all of us, it can be particularly difficult for younger girls as they adjust to the new content and workload that secondary school has to offer, as well as the increased independence that comes with this transition.

The Study Buddy Program partners a Year 11 student with a Year 7 or 8 student to help them settle into BGGS and adjust to their new learning environment. During remote learning the Program has continued via FaceTime, calls, texts, emails, and other forms of communication to assist our Year 7 and 8 girls while they are learning from home. Throughout this period, Year 11 girls have been checking in with their buddies, offering support, providing study tips and advice, and simply seeing how their buddies are going.

We look forward to seeing our buddies again back in the library when they return to school, and congratulate all girls on adjusting so well to remote learning.
