Week 7, Term 2

The clouds have finally parted this week, exposing blue skies and bringing crisp winter air. It has been a joyful sight to have girls sitting outside again during their lunch breaks, making the most of the sunshine.

This week our Year 10 girls have finished their exams and will be turning their attention to their senior subject choices ahead of the upcoming subject selection evening. We wish our Year 11 and 12 students well as they continue to prepare for their exams next week and I thank our teachers for ensuring the girls are well prepared, confident, and calm.

As always, there is much to look forward to in the last few weeks of Term 2. The Instrumental Music Department is preparing to host a truly beloved occasion on the BGGS calendar, Cathedral Concert, this Saturday afternoon. As afternoon light streams through the stained-glass windows of the historic St John’s Cathedral, Girls Grammar’s Senior Ensembles will delight our School community. It truly is an event not to be missed. Families can still purchase a ticket here.

It will be a busy day for many Grammar girls on Saturday, with the QGSSSA Cross Country competition to be held in the morning at John Paul College in Daisy Hill. Our Cross Country team will no doubt be eager to display their well-honed skills after many early mornings of training—in the rain and wind! We wish them all the very best for an exciting and challenging event, and spectators are most welcome to attend. I am certain that a sea of Grammar blue in the crowd will spur our runners on!

With only two weeks left of Term 2, we look forward to ending the term with more enjoyable occasions, including the annual Mother and Daughter Dinner and Interhouse Cross Country.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend.
