Annual Speech Day and Distribution of Prizes calculations

At the School’s annual Prize Reading on Wednesday 30 October, the names of the girls who will receive awards at Brisbane Girls Grammar School’s 2019 Annual Speech Day and Distribution of Prizes, to be held on Thursday 14 November, were announced.

The majority of the awards presented at the Annual Speech Day and Distribution of Prizes acknowledge academic achievement. The following information outlines the calculations process by which prizes and certificates are awarded. If any students have questions about prizes, they should speak to their Head of House.

Brisbane Girls Grammar School awards academic pockets to girls who receive a Prize for Outstanding Academic Merit (full pocket), a Prize for Academic Merit (half pocket) or a Certificate for Academic Merit (general pocket). Both the Dux of Year 11 and 12 will be eligible for a ‘blue’. The criteria for the awarding of these pockets are the same as those used to calculate the prizes and certificates below.
