On Thursday 17 November 2022 at 1.30 pm, the School will be holding its Annual Speech Day and Distribution of Prizes.
On Speech Day, there are no scheduled lessons, and all students are requested to make their own way to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Southbank, at the following times:
- Arrival times for musicians (rehearsal):
— 6.30 am—Music staff arrive and set up
— 7 am—student musicians and Mass Choir arrive
— 7.30 am—Symphonic Winds and Mass Choir sound check/rehearse
— 8.15 am—Symphony Orchestra and Mass Choir sound check/rehearse
— 9 am—Symphony Orchestra sound check/rehearse
— 9.30 am—Chamber Singers and Big Band sound check/rehearse
— 10 am—finish all rehearsals
- 10.30 am—all Prize Winners (rehearsal)
- 11.45 am—Year 11 ushers
- 12.15 pm—all other students.
Precise instructions will be given to students regarding reporting to House Group Teachers at appropriate times and it is important that girls are punctual. Girls will be assigned specific seating in their Year levels for the ceremony, which is scheduled to conclude at approximately 3.30 pm.
Students are expected to be well-groomed and to exhibit exemplary behaviour. Only permitted jewellery and correct badges are to be worn, together with blue ribbons, stockings, and well-polished shoes. Girls should also wear hats. No school bags should be taken to the ceremony.
Students are requested to avoid wandering around the city, the Mall, or South Bank before going to the Convention Centre.
