Artistic Gymnastics update

During the last week of Term 1, the QG Artistic Gymnastics team travelled to Clayfield College for the QGSSSA Artistic Gymnastics competition. It was a wonderful day filled with fun and enjoyed by all girls participating.

Despite disruptions throughout the start of the academic year, from floods to COVID, it was a successful day for our teams. Grammar girls persisted and performed to their very best, proving the early mornings and long training sessions paid off. The School was represented by the largest number of gymnasts with 11 teams.

A special shout-out goes to our A.1, C, D.1, D.2, Year 7.1, and Year 7.2 teams, for all placing top three in their respective divisions. In particular, we would like to congratulate the D2 team who were the premiers on the day. A further special mention must go to the following girls who placed first overall for their respective apparatus.

Miranda Zhang (7M)—1st Bars, Beam

Natasha Babnik (8B) D(ii)—1st Bars, Floor

Pippa Castles (8B) D(ii)—1st Vault

Anna Goslin (8H) D(ii)—1st Bars

Jemima Faint (10M) A—1st Vault

Thank you to Ms Euler and Ms Duffy for their support of Artistic Gymnastics and the integral part they played in making sure the competition went ahead smoothly. We would also like to thank Mrs Nisbett for her assistance in the stands on the day and for coordinating us during Term 4. Finally, we would like to extend our gratitude to our amazing coordinator, Ms McIntosh for her interest in our sport and encouragement of every gymnast on our team. Thank you for all your efforts behind the scenes.
