As per the updated national and Queensland Health guidelines, from Friday 9 September, the mandatory isolation period for COVID-19 has been reduced to 5 days from when a person tests positive for COVID-19 if they are asymptomatic.
As a result, if your daughter tests positive for COVID-19 from today, she can return to School after completing 5 days of isolation, if she has no symptoms on day 5. If your daughter is still experiencing COVID/flu-like symptoms on day 5, she must complete the full 7-day isolation period and remain at home until she has recovered.
It is a requirement that your daughter continues wearing a face mask at School for 7 days after completing isolation, as per Queensland Health guidelines. A negative test result is not required if she is feeling well and has completed isolation.
