Recently, Brisbane Grammar School invited the Girls Grammar community to a virtual parent information evening on Respectful Relationships with Dr Tessa Opie.
The Zoom presentation, held Monday 19 July, was filmed for parents who were unable to watch it live. Unfortunately, the recording was of poor audio quality for the first few minutes. Below is a link to a pre-recorded version that Dr Opie filmed last year, which features the same information.
In the session, Dr Opie spoke about the world of relationships our young people are navigating in a digital and hyper-sexualised climate. Topics including the impact of media, online pornography and children’s attitudes towards sexual activity were also discussed in the session.
Dr Opie provided advice on what parents, caregivers and role models can do to positively encourage our young people to develop healthy and respectful relationships.
