Study Sessions Information

Holiday Study Sessions for Year 12 Students

From Monday 27 September to Friday 1 October, the Spring Hill Study Sessions will be available to all Year 12 students for preparation for the External Exams.

The aim of the program is to provide structure and routine for students in addition to quality supervision as students work on their assessment preparation. Students will have additional academic support from Study Supervisors with specialised knowledge in their disciplines.

This will be a five day program, offering two study sessions per day:

• Study Session 1 will run from 9 am to 12 noon
• Lunch Break – 12 noon to 1 pm
• Study Session 2 will run from 1 pm to 4 pm

Students are welcome to attend one or both sessions each day. They are not required to sign up for the full five days, however, to ensure adequate staffing, please indicate the days that your daughter will be attending using this link.

The School Café will not be open during this time. Students are encouraged to bring a packed lunch with them.

Evening Study Program

The School will continue to offer the Evening Study Program for Years 10, 11 and 12 students commencing Monday 11 October 2021.

The Program allows students to complete homework and assessment preparation within a supervised environment at the School. It is held in the Elizabeth Jameson Research Learning Centre from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings as advised each term, with dinner from 6 pm to 6.30 pm. Students are supervised by an experienced Girls Grammar staff member, who is assisted by study supervisors.

Parents who wish for their daughter to attend the Program in Term 4 are asked to complete the online form by Wednesday 6 October 2021. If your daughter participated in the Program during Term 3 and wishes to continue to do so in Term 4, you will need to complete a new confirmation form.

Students can be enrolled for either one or both evenings; however, bookings must be made for the entire term—girls cannot change their scheduled evening of attendance during the term.

Attendance at the Evening Study Program will incur a cost of $50 per evening, which will be added automatically to the student’s School Fees Account. The Program will not operate on public holidays or student-free days, and parents will not be charged for these days. Refunds are not available should a student not attend her scheduled session.

Sunday Study Sessions

Sunday sessions are an opportunity for quiet study, homework completion and assessment preparation in the Elizabeth Jameson Research Learning Centre on Sundays during Term 4 as advised. This opportunity is open for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

The library will be open from 9 am to 4 pm, and the girls are free to arrive and depart in their own time. Students are supervised by a BGGS staff member who will only act in a supervisory capacity; no tutoring is available on Sundays.
