The Brisbane Girls Grammar School Art Collection is continually evolving and proudly showcases many works from professional alumnae artists.
Ms Kylie Elkington (1983) now lives and works in Tasmania with several prizes and successful exhibitions to her name. Over the past decade, Ms Elkington has generously donated three of her paintings to the School, including Morning Walk Bundanon Trust 2015, which was gifted in February this year. In 2012, she was an Artist-in-Residence of the Bundanon Trust, in the Shoalhaven region of NSW which inspired this work.
A finalist in the Tattersall’s Art Prize 2015, this piece is a beautiful shining work that captures the essence of Ms Elkington’s engagement with the detail and glory of the natural world and her neo-romantic style.
Along with her painting Faultlines 2009, this oil on linen hangs in the Principal’s office. The School is proud to display the works of Ms Kylie Elkington and we are grateful for her generosity.
