From the Health Centre

A number of students have presented to the Health Centre with vomiting and diarrhoea over the past three weeks.

This is an opportune time to remind parents and students of the Queensland Health Guidelines about vomiting, diarrhoea and gastroenteritis. These state:

‘Adults should not return to work until diarrhoea has ceased for 24 hours and up to 48 hours for some conditions. Children should not return to childcare or school until diarrhoea has ceased for 24 hours or up to 48 hours for some conditions.’

If you have any queries about these guidelines or questions about your daughter’s health, please contact the Health Centre via healthcentre@bggs.qld.edu.au or 3332 1337. For further information on exclusion periods for infectious conditions, please refer to the Queensland Health website.
