From the Second Chance Committee

Second Chance is a service group that supports women and children experiencing homelessness in Brisbane.

Every year in Term 4, Second Chance hosts a Christmas Giving Tree appeal to provide gifts to young women and children who may not receive any gifts at all.

We have had an outstanding response from the BGGS community and have handed out more tags than ever before! There are no more tags to collect—however, if you would still like to get involved, you could make a card or two filled with a message of hope and well wishes for the year ahead. Drop this off under the tree in the Library, and we will add them to any gifts without a card.

To get all of these gifts delivered in time, we do need to have them returned to the Library by the end of next week (Friday 19 November).

For those who have committed to providing a gift, please remember to:

  • Shop for the gift on your tag ($20-30 price range)
  • place the gift in a gift bag
  • please do not wrap, as the gifts need to be checked before being delivered
  • Attach the tag to the gift so it can be delivered to the correct recipient and place it under the tree in the Library by Friday 19 November.

Thank you to everybody involved this year, you will be making a massive difference to the lives of so many women and children this Christmas!

Happy holidays!
