Fuelling the Adolescent Athlete

On Wednesday evening, Brisbane Girls Grammar School hosted a virtual ‘Fuelling the Adolescent Athlete’ Information Session.

The event involved discussion about nutrition-based strategies to support the development of adolescent athletes.

BGGS Athlete Development Manager, Mr Paul Pearce, was joined by Mrs Stephanie Heard, Dietitian and Family Therapist at River Oak Health, to discuss strategies for fuelling adolescent athletes in healthy and appropriate ways, including:

  • RAVES eating principles
  • matching energy demands with energy intake
  • performance consequences of low energy.
