In Term 2, Brisbane Girls Grammar School and Brisbane Grammar School will offer a joint school bus service for students who live in Ashgrove and Clayfield. These two pilot routes were identified from a survey conducted late last year.
The planned bus routes, bus stops, and timetables are available here.
If you anticipate using this service for your daughter, please click here to complete the registration form by 11 pm Sunday 3 April. Please note the registration form is the same for both Schools, so you only need to register once. On the registration form, we ask that you indicate the routes and times you anticipate your daughter will use.
The cost will be a subsidised flat fee of $3.50 per trip ($7 return). The bus will provide a tap-on system to confirm the student was on the bus, and fees will be charged to the student’s Flexischools account.
It is vital students tap on using their Flexischools card when they enter the bus. There will be separate tap-on terminals for each School, and these will be labelled. The bus services will only be available to the students of BGGS and BGS and will be operated by the Schools’ current bus partner, Belbaker.
A comprehensive list of FAQs is also available on the website.
One of the primary aims of the pilot is to reduce traffic congestion within our Spring Hill community and support a reduction in our carbon footprint over time. Private vehicle is the primary form of transport for many students and the bus service is anticipated to lessen the reliance on cars. If the pilot is successful for the Ashgrove and Clayfield areas, the Schools may extend the initiative to include additional areas in the future.
We will actively seek parent feedback to inform our future plans.
