The Grammar Bus Pilot is now underway for Term 2, offering two routes to and from the School—Ashgrove and Clayfield. This collaboration with BGS to offer alternative transport options is designed to reduce traffic congestion around both schools and support a reduction of our carbon footprint over time.
The bus pilot offers parents from within and beyond these suburbs the option for their daughter to travel to School via a dedicated bus service with BGS students. There is an early and late departure (two bus runs) each morning and afternoon, and parents can drop off their daughter at any of the designated bus stops.
Information about the bus pilot, including the bus stops, routes, pick-up and drop-off times, code of conduct, and a list of frequently asked questions, is available on Minerva.
You do not need to register your daughter to use this service; she is welcome to use the bus when convenient for your family. Your daughter will simply need to tap her Flexischools card on entry to the bus (not required on exit) and $3.50 will be debited from her Flexischools account.
Please note the location of the Spring Hill bus stop is outside Brisbane Grammar School (BGS). When leaving Girls Grammar, students will need to turn right on Gregory Terrace and walk towards BGS, crossing over Kalinga Avenue and the BGS drop-off zone. The Belbaker buses will be adjacent to this pedestrian crossing.
If the bus is delayed by more than 20 minutes, parents will be notified via the BGGS App. We encourage you, and your daughter, to download the App and enable push notifications to ensure you receive any notifications about the service.
Both schools will survey parents during Term 2 to seek feedback on the Pilot, which will help inform whether the service is extended beyond Term 2.
We encourage families to consider whether this pilot can support their daughter’s daily commute to and from school. For any queries, please email communications@bggs.qld.edu.au.
