Interhouse Athletics Carnival

Parents and supporters are invited to attend the Brisbane Girls Grammar School Interhouse Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 10 August 2021.

This carnival will be held over the full school day and is a whole-school House event. Students are expected to attend as they would any other school day.

Girls wishing to be selected for the Brisbane Girls Grammar School Athletics Team must compete on the day to have their performance against their peers recorded. Those selected will represent the School at the QGSSSA Athletics Championships on Thursday 16 October 2021.

Prior to the carnival, the annual 3000m track race will be held at Downey Park, Noble St, Windsor on Tuesday 3 August. Competitors must be able to make their own way to the venue by 6.45 am for warm-up. The race will commence at 7 am sharp. At the event’s conclusion, competitors will be transported back to school by bus.

BGGS Interhouse Athletics Carnival

Time: 8 am to 2.15 pm
Venue: Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, Kessels Road, Nathan
Venue Requirements: spectators will be seated in the highest section of the main grandstand behind the girls. Please remain seated in this section. Parents must sign in using the Check In Qld App at the venue and follow the latest Queensland Government Health advice. Attendees are reminded they should stay at home if in the last 14 days, they have:
• returned to Australia from overseas (not including a safe travel zone country)
• been in close contact with an active COVID-19 case
• been in a Queensland declared hotspot or exposure site, as defined by the Chief Health Officer
• had a fever, cough, sore throat, headache, distorted sense of taste, shortness of breath, or any cold/flu like symptoms in the last 72 hours.

Presentation of Trophies: 2 pm
Finish: 2.15 pm
