Throughout 2022, the School has rolled out initiatives centred around the art of gratitude as part of our wider Just Because campaign.
In Term 1, students wrote postcards to their mums and were filmed with the opener ‘I’d like to thank my mum, just because’. Mothers at the Autumn Luncheon were surprised with this video and given the opportunity to write their own postcards to their daughters or a BGGS staff member with a note of gratitude. An overwhelming number of mums wrote to teachers, and they were gifted their postcards at the end of Term 1.
In Term 2, we focused on self-gratitude, and every student in the School took time to write themselves a short ‘Dear Me’ postcard. These will be gifted back to each student later in the year.
Our First Term 3 campaign was championed by the P&F Association, titled ‘From my family, to yours …’ Supported by the Mothers Group, our current families wrote words of wisdom to our incoming Year 7 2023 families, which were then gifted at the inaugural Parent and Daughter Dinner. From early visits to Spotlight for house party outfits, to getting in and trying new things, the advice from our current families captured the community spirit of Girls Grammar and served as a personalised and warm welcome for our future families.
