Year 12 2021 have graduated and are ready for the next stage in their lives.
We acknowledged and thanked our Year 12 students and their parents at Valedictory Dinner. Speech Day and Distribution of Prizes was a wonderful celebration of the achievement of our students with exquisite musical performances and inspiring speeches from our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Head Girls, and Shaimaa Khalil, who gave the Occasional Address.
We welcomed Governor of Queensland and Official Visitor to Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Her Excellency, Dr Jeannette Young PSM to Speech Day. The Governor awarded prizes for Lady Lilley Gold Medallist for Dux of the School (Samantha Atherton (12L)), Proxime Accessit to the Dux of the School (Zhixuan Zhang (12L)) and Third in Year (Audrey Lusk (12E)). This morning, the Mothers Group provided an informal and very special farewell morning tea for Year 12 and their teachers. We concluded with the traditional, and always emotional, farewell to the girls as they walked up Gehrmann Lane through the white picket fence for the final time as Grammar girls.
