The 2023 Swimming season has been one to remember! Throughout the season, there has been impressive turnouts at training and the weekly Friday night trial meets.
Our girls showed substantial progress at each of these meets and at the Interhouse Swimming Carnival, which put us in a strong position for QGSSSA on Wednesday night. Girls gave it their all and swam to the best of their abilities. The 105 student supporters were much appreciated and really helped lift up the team and fuel Grammar spirit.
Overall, 429 points were achieved for BGGS, putting us in 6th place. A special mention to the 16 years who placed 2nd in their age group, and the 12 years who placed 4th. The age group placings are as follows:
12 years: 4th
13 years: 6th
14 years: 7th
15 years: 5th
16 years: 2nd
17 years: 5th
Additionally, congratulations must go to Cate Ward (10B) for winning the 16 Years 50 Butterfly, Ella Rockett (7E), for winning the 12 Years 100 Freestyle and the 12 and Under Division B 4 x 50 Freestyle Relay: Abby Carter (7E); Eloise Knight (7E); Annabel Kelley (7O); and Georgia Murray (7W).
We are both so proud of the girls’ efforts on Wednesday and throughout the season.
