Rhythmic Gymnastics Wins and BGGS Defends Head of the River

Rhythmic Gymnastics

After what has been a turbulent season, including many training sessions, holiday training, lockdown, quarantine, and a rescheduled competition, the 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics season has come to an end.

Although it is sad to see this year’s season end, I could not be happier to deliver the results following our QGSSSA competition. On Wednesday 1 September, the BGGS team consisting of 77 gymnasts performed exceptionally well. These outstanding results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team this season.

I would like to thank all gymnasts for their efforts and commitment to the season. In particular, the 2021 captains Phoebe Beresford (12E) and Eloise Dewar (12W), who have lead this year with enthusiasm and grace, it has been wonderful to watch their leadership skills develop and their love of the team, and the sport has been inspiring. I would also like to thank our amazing team of coaches. We absolutely could not have achieved these results without your ongoing support and expertise.

This year, the team has been flexible (in more ways than one) and has shown resilience in every challenge we have faced. The whole team is to be commended for their efforts and ability to show up with a smile despite difficult times. I am sure these wonderful results provide the satisfaction you all deserve.

Head of the River

Good luck to all our rowing crews, who will compete in Head of the River this weekend. Our rowing crews bring two terms of hard training, strength and commitment to the start-line at Wyaralong Dam on Sunday. BGGS are defending champions, last year making BGGS history by winning the 2020 Head of the River for the first time.

If you are wishing to attend the Head of the River, please be aware that you must pre-pay parking. You will not be able to enter the venue on Sunday if you do not have a pre-paid ticket. Parking opens strictly at 7 am. Please have your pass printed or open on your phone to allow traffic to flow. To organise pre-paid parking, click this link.

Good luck to all of our Rowing crews, including the BGGS Open First VIII!
