Shed Your Bed Sleepover

To continue our support for the 2022 School Charity, Beddown, Grammar girls are invited to ‘Shed their Bed’ and have a sleepover with a friend this Saturday (15 October) evening. Beddown hosts the Shed Your Bed Challenge in this week of World Homelessness Day. This charity event encourages people to forgo their bed for the night and experience ‘sleeping rough’. Whether sleeping in a tent in the backyard, the lounge room, or a hammock on the back deck, this initiative aims to raise awareness of people experiencing homelessness and foster a stronger sense of empathy and understanding for their circumstances.

The Girls Grammar Service Crew would love for students to get involved with their friends and have a sleepover together; however, the School cannot accept any responsibility for the supervision and behaviour of students. Any photographs that might be published from the sleepovers on the School’s social media channels will follow the guidelines of the Brisbane Girls Grammar School social media policies.

The founder of Beddown, Mr Norm McGivillray, will be attending the Year 10 Ethics Assembly on Tuesday 25 October. We are looking forward to hearing about the promising year of growth that Beddown has enjoyed in 2022 and sharing the Student Council fundraising of $1810.60 as well as the bags filled with essential items and a treat that the Year 10 students have produced.
