Student Free Day next Friday 3 September

Schools in Queensland will have a student-free day next Friday 3 September 2021; therefore, BGGS students will not be required to attend School on this day.

 

Year 10 Immunisations

After being postponed due to quarantine, immunisations for Year 10 students have been rescheduled to occur in Week 10, Monday 13 September.

On this day, students with completed and returned consent forms will receive the Meningococcal vaccination. A team of authorised Registered Nurses will conduct the vaccinations.

If your daughter is unable to attend school on Monday, you will be able to reschedule with your family GP or at an Immunisation Clinic.

This free vaccination is recommended on the National Immunisation Program schedule, and only one dose of the meningococcal ACWY vaccine is required.

Parent Webinar with Mr Paul Dillon

On Thursday 16 September, all parents are invited to attend an online webinar presented by Paul Dillon.

Mr Dillon works with many organisations to provide regular updates on teenage drug use trends and has identified that the key to protecting our youth rests in education. His work with school communities ensures they have access to quality information and best-practice drug education.

The webinar, titled Young People, Alcohol and Other Drugs 2021: What do Parents Need to Know? will explore vaping, and the online sales of drugs via social media apps, and aims to empower parents and assist them in having open and honest family discussions about these complex topics.
