Touch Update

Due to these unprecedented times, the Touch season has had its challenges. We would like to thank everyone for being so understanding and the players for their continual commitment to the sport. Thankfully, we have been able to train at QUT Kelvin Grove for the past two weeks.

All the players are very excited for QGSSSA games to begin, where we can finally put all our hard work and effort to the test. Even though it is disappointing that Round 1 Touch fixtures against Somerville House were an abandoned round, we are grateful to be playing State High and St Peter’s Lutheran College (Senior Bii, 8Bii, and 7C teams) this Friday 18 March.

We both started playing Touch in Year 7 and we have both grown to love it. We love the environment of the sport, the thrill of scoring a try, the feeling of 14 players and the rest of the Touch community getting behind you. When you win a game, there’s always that massive rush of positivity, but even when we lose games, there are always smiles across the board. We love the fact that we are making new friends—some of which will be lifelong.

Most importantly, we love playing Touch because we are representing our School and creating memories at both training and games.
