Water Polo wrap

It has been a busy final month for Water Polo at Girls Grammar, with girls competing at the Brisbane Water Polo Incorporated (BWPI) Finals, State Titles and the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

We had 28 teams compete in BWPI—eight teams in the semi finals, three teams in the grand finals, and wonderfully, two championship teams. Congratulations to our U16B Blue and U15C Sapphire teams for their wins and thank you to all 300 students who competed in the Water Polo season this year. It was an incredible effort by all involved.

During the holidays, we had State Titles and the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships. For some girls it was 13 days over their holidays playing Water Polo, including Easter Sunday—what a commitment! While we didn’t receive medals in these tournaments, it was quite evident that we have incredible talent and enthusiasm for the sport and always display fantastic sportsmanship.

Thank you to all players, coaches, parents, carers and supporters for an exciting second half of the season. All players and coaches should be proud of their efforts, and I look forward to us building on the results from this season.
