Student Absences

If your daughter is unwell and unable to attend School, please phone the Absentee Line on 07 3332 1333 by 8.15 am to notify of any student absence. Alternatively, parents can advise the School of a student absence via absences@bggs.qld.edu.au or Parent Portal.

If a student is absent at the beginning of the day and her absence is unexplained, an SMS alert will be sent to her parents’ mobile phones, alerting them that she is absent from School. This SMS alert will be sent at approximately 9.30 am.

Students arriving late to School must report to Student Reception to sign-in, with a note explaining their late arrival. Students leaving school early must also bring a note, signed by her Head of House, to Student Reception prior to leaving school.

If a student feels unwell throughout the day, she should report to the Health Centre, where the School Nurse will contact her parents and arrange for her to go home, if necessary.

Parents who need to collect their daughter for an emergency appointment and are unable to write a note, should contact the School via 07 3332 1333.
