On Wednesday 30 August 2017, Ms Else Shepherd AM (1960), Ms Margie Seale, Ms Kerryn Newton and Ms Susan Forrester joined Brisbane Girls Grammar School’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, Ms Elizabeth Jameson (1982), for a panel discussion at Grammar Women in the Boardroom: A Conversation for Change.

These prominent career directors discussed their experience of the boardroom and provided advice for the next generation of female leaders.

Women considering joining a board were advised to be clear about their reasons behind their decision, to develop a compelling case for what they have to offer and to undertake further education to address any gaps in their skill set. Most importantly, they were encouraged to be bold and not be afraid to seek advice and assistance.

To continue to support future female leaders, Brisbane Girls Grammar School has established the Grammar Women Board Network. Designed to harness the knowledge and experience of female directors associated with the School, this network will assist in the development and promotion of future generations of female business leaders in Australia. A LinkedIn group has been created to support members in establishing connections within the network to develop mentor/mentee relationships. View further information and register to join the Grammar Women Board Network.
