Arts Fest

Today, we wrap up our school-based Arts Fest for another year. Week 3, Term 2 saw a variety of arts experiences designed to augment our classroom experiences, from the Upper Intermediate Strings Fest through to art workshops, a comedy debate ‘that fairy tales set us up for a disappointing life’, instrumental music competitions, a new film clip from Gypsy Band, and a lunchtime songwriter showcase. Tuesday’s Interhouse Choir Competition provided girls the wonderful opportunity to celebrate the role music plays in our School community.

Week 4 carried on with more Instrumental Music competitions, a guitar workshop with Karin Schaupp, a composition workshop with Robert Davidson and numerous lunch concerts to showcase our dancers, buskers, contemporary and jazz ensembles. Visual Art staff mounted a stunning exhibition of their own recent works, and the Senior Drama Production, The Book of Everything, enthralled the audience in last night’s opening.

Congratulations to our Arts Captains, Sunday McCullough (12L) and Trish Le (12R), for their leadership of the festival this year.
