From the Dorothy Hill Observatory: Lunar Eclipse

If you missed the recent Lunar eclipse, the School captured some images using the Dorothy Hill Observatory telescope at the Marrapatta Memorial Outdoor Education Centre.

These images, taken at stages throughout the eclipse, were captured on a 106mm telescope with a six-megapixel CCD camera, using a five-second exposure time. We usually cannot take photos of the moon because it was far too bright for our camera. However, during the total eclipse, it’s just dark enough for us to see.
