Year 10 Design and Digital Excursion

On Wednesday 3 April 2019, Year 10 Design and Digital Technologies students visited Urban Art Projects (UAP). UAP are international leaders in specialist art installation and resourcing, and collaborate with designers, artists, architects and developers to bring uncommon creativity to the public realm.

UAP technologists, engineers and artists shared their specialist skills in the broad range of fabrication systems they utilise to create world-leading installations. The girls were fortunate to watch an array of specialist manufacturing processes ranging from the use of robotics in design-led fabrication, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) for visual immersion, and design testing through to traditional foundry-pouring aluminium for castings.

The expedition demonstrated the many career avenues available in design.
