White Blouse Day 2020

Encouraged by Service Captains, Gia Cayas (12G) and Eva Seet (12B), and O’Connor House Service Captains, Abigail Lui (12O) and Ashley Zhang (120), Year 11 and 12 Grammar girls removed their ties in support of the Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation as part of White Blouse Day on Wednesday 20 May.

Now in its sixth year, White Blouse Day supports the O’Connor House Charity, which funds research for better diagnosis and treatments for women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers.

This year’s event was slightly modified with Grammar girls learning from home participating in a Zoom ‘white out’ in their House Groups, wearing their white sports shirts in support of this important cause.

In response to the current climate, this year students also hoped to raise awareness of the importance of not overlooking regular health checks.

The Service Captains reminded students that it is important, as young women, to be aware of their bodies and seek advice from trusted adults if something has changed or is not quite right.
