BGGS Athletes In Full Swing Ahead Of QGSSSA Competition

The Athletics season is now in full swing, and after six weeks of hard training we are excited to be competing in our first meet against St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School this Friday 21 August. The athletics squad will again be led by an experienced team of coaches, including Head Coach, Mr Paul Pearce, Mrs Donna Miller (discus), Mr Tim Franklin (middle distance), Mrs Alice Dabelstein (sprints), Mr William White (javelin), Ms Tamara Hotten (hurdles) and Ms Rebecca Haley (shot put).

We also welcome new additions to the coaching team including 2019 BGGS graduate and Athletics Captain, Ms Maddy Clark (sprints), 2018 Commonwealth Games athlete, Ms Cassie Purdon (high jump), and Queensland Academy of Sport athlete, Mr Liam Adcock (long jump).

Despite being a shortened season, the athletics team is making the most of training opportunities ahead of the QGSSSA competition on Thursday 17 September.
