Cricket—end-of-season wrap-up

On Tuesday afternoon, the BGGS QG Cricket Squad celebrated the close of the season, in a fitting manner reflective of the season that it was—last-minute venue changes due to wet weather! Despite this, our players once again demonstrated their resilience and positivity, recognising the successes of their teammates and showing gratitude for each other and their coaches.

Our season has been impacted by multiple disruptions but under the leadership of our superb Captains, Alice Barker (12R) and Charlotte Banney (12L), and guidance from coaches Mr Christian Moffat, Mr Daniel Larkin, Mr Jack O’Brien, Miss Sophia Rothwell, and Mr Aaron Bowden, our cricketers have grown together as a squad and experienced success on the pitch. Games would not have been possible without assistance from our expert scorers, Dr Paula Johnson and Ms Maggie Loye.

Saturday 26 March was scheduled to be our Pink Stumps fundraising event in support of the McGrath Foundation. Our Captains had been busy organising morning tea with the assistance of the BGGS Mothers Group for our Gala Round; however, watch this space for an update on fundraising activities in the future.

Thank you to all involved for an exciting season and keep an eye on Minerva in Semester 2 for information regarding trials for the 2023 season.
