Last Friday, the BGGS Cross Country team competed in our first and last race of the year, against St Peters Lutheran College. The meet was an opportunity to farewell our Year 12 runners and Cross Country Captains, Matisse Black (12H) and Lucinda Sherman (12M), and we thank them for their leadership and encouragement throughout this and previous seasons. It was also a chance for Year 7 runners to compete for the first time on the course at Rangakarra Recreational and Environmental Education Centre, and get a taste of what is to come in their following years.
This marvellous afternoon would not have been possible without our Cross Country Coordinator, Mrs McCarthy, staff and parents who spent their afternoon at Rangakarra to support the team. We witnessed many outstanding runs from our girls and we encourage each one of them to maintain their fitness by coming along to the School’s Run Fit program, held every Friday morning.
